We already know that jewelry designer Pamela Love has an incredible closet (check it out here), but in the five years since we photographed her Greenpoint, Brooklyn, home, she and her husband have undertaken a massive gut renovation. The three-story building is located right next to Monsignor McGolrick Park, with the couples’ bedroom window overlooking the trees—a rare luxury in New York City. Beaded textiles and potted plants greet us when we enter the apartment, while her stout cat Mungo—short for “humongous”—eyes us cautiously from various perches between the two floors. The space is welcoming and warm but never crowded, the crisp white walls contrasting everything from a hand-dyed pink couch to the turquoise Moroccan tile in the upstairs kitchen.

We motion to a particularly intriguing photograph of a man digging into a tray of chicken hanging just outside the master bedroom. “You know that brand Sies Marjan?” Love laughs as we nod. “Hes the CEO and co-founder, and hes also eating fried chicken on his birthday on my wall.” There’s no shortage of these sentimental touches, and in truth it seems like we can’t mention a single trinket or pillow that doesn’t have some sort of backstory. From the smallest detail of a cactus’ ceramic planter, to the speciality claw-foot tub every woman in the world dreams about, it’s clear that her eye for design isn’t just limited to jewelry.

Click through to learn Love’s best tips for digging for antiques, the story behind the apartment’s two kitchens, and how the native Floridian turned her home into a winter escape.
