There are few things in life that will take you as far as a good pant. A pair that's versatile, with the perfect fit, is the ultimate foundation piece for any wardrobe. They can be dressed up (with pumps) or down (hello, fashion sneaker) with a quick shoe change. A chic crop pant can go from office (sweater) to date night (que sexy bodysuit) in under 30 seconds flat, and it’s also a huge space saver in suitcases. While a good pant can take you far, finding the one that hits all the marks can be somewhat of an urban legend. You will then, of course, understand our sheer elation when UNIQLO hit us with their new EZY ankle pant. The perfect marriage of form and fashion these ankle crop pants are now the staple of almost every Coveteur editor. We tasked some of our most fashionable employees to take their EZY’s for a spin around Soho and share their styling tips. Please read on for how they style this wardrobe staple.



Menswear Inspired

While adding a pump can make an ankle pant look sexy, we wholeheartedly believe in the appeal of a menswear-inspired look, too. Playing with proportions, accessories and beauty can make a menswear themed ensemble look fresh AF. As per our go-to pant queen, Hannah:

“I’m usually drawn to menswear-inspired silhouettes, so a collared shirt and trousers is my regular go-to. To keep it feeling fresh, I love tying the top for a hint of skin and adding plenty of gold accessories into the mix. Add in a pair of vintage loafers, a structured handbag, and some glittery eyeshadow, and the look is complete!”

The old adage of not mixing prints is SO passe. We say, the more, the merrier! Taking cues from Jordan makes this look easy to pull off.

“I chose to have a little fun with this outfit by mixing patterns. I went with the UNIQLO EZY ankle pant in gray plaid, paired with an oversized red and white striped button-down shirt (half tucked for that ‘off duty’ look). To balance the plaid and stripes, I added more muted accessories like a mini silver bag, my everyday jewelry, black wide frame sunnies and black strappy heels to dress it up a bit. This outfit is super comfortable, but still elevated enough for the office or drinks at the end of the day. ”

The great thing about an ankle crop is that is really is seasonless. In the summer, you can style it with chic flats and sandals, but it also works perfectly with runners or boots in the fall. If you can’t face the fact that summer is more than halfway over (us, too) take the lead from Ivanna and use your crop to be on permanent vacation.

“I love the summer months so much, it’s hard for me to fully let go of my ‘vacation style.’ So, I paired my outfit with espadrilles and a woven plastic bag to seamlessly ease into the fall. I love how the EZY ankle pant gives me the flexibility to wear a slightly more summer shoe like an espadrille, or a pair of booties for a casual fall look.
