4 Festival Trends You’ll Definitely Spot at Coachella This Year

Sparkles, stencils, and yes, still braids.

Beyoncé’s flawless performance, Cardi B’s baby bump, the yodeling Walmart kid—there’s no shortage of stuff to *see* at Coachella this year. But let’s not forget about all you can *do* in the middle of the iconic desert festival, too. After you’ve had your fill of food and drinks, you can also get mini makeovers to amp up your total festival look—I’m getting mine at Sephora’s pop-up tent. As the festival’s official partner for the second year in a row, the beauty company will supply new metallic makeup, hairstyling appointments for braids and buns, and a bit of sparkle to dust on any look. It’s free, and it has air-conditioning and WiFi. (And who doesn’t love that?)

So what looks will everyone be going for this year? Here are the top four festival beauty trends at Coachella.

Holographic and Metallic Makeup

Say goodbye to subtle: From April 13 - 15, you’ll be able to get your hands on some of Sephora’s newest stuff, including Sephora Collection’s Holographic Face & Cheek Palette, Cream Lip Stains (there are 12 shiny new shades!), and metallic temporary tattoos. Don’t know where to begin? There will be a makeup artist present to give you a hand!

Space-Inspired Looks

During the first weekend, Bumble and bumble will style your hair with tiny glittering lights, which will stay in place with the help of its Thickening Dryspun Finish Volume Spray and Bb. Pret–a–Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo w/ French Pink Clay. Plus, we can’t forget those space buns! This year stylists will help you take things to a sparkly new level by adding IGK’s Foamo Holographic Hair Foam and Preparty Hair Strobing Glitter Spray.

Hair Stencils

Speaking of hair, you’ll be encouraged to experiment with vibrant colors by using HUSH’s Prism Airbrush Spray. Not willing to rock a full head of pink or purple? Create a cool design instead by using a hair stencil.

A Variety of Braids

Want to rock a crown braid or add a little flair, but can’t seem to master it on yourself? Amika’s Braid Bar is a must-visit during weekend two. Un.Done Volume and Matte Texture Spray will ensure your ’do lasts while you dance the day and night away.
