Alana Pallister brought I.AM.GIA to life in four short weeks after dreaming it up in a gravity float tank. Los Angeles.

You’ve most likely noticed one particular brand that is slowly (but surely) taking over both Instagram feeds and closets around the world. Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber have been spotted wearing it, and the label even had perosnalized boxes sent to each VS angel ahead of the 2017 show. If you haven’t already guessed, it’s the Australian label I.AM.GIA.

Chances are you’re familiar with their snakeskin or plaid two-piece sets, racing-inspired pants, or lace-up PVC pants, but if not, allow us to introduce you to the brand and its incredible co-founder, Alana Pallister (who runs the label with her sister, Stevie, the other blonde bombshell pictured).

Although permanently located down under, we were able to catch Pallister, who also runs and owns Tiger Mist, in her home away from home: Los Angeles. Walking into her downtown L.A. home, we would never have guessed that it was her part-time apartment, as the closet was practically overflowing—there were rows and rows of shoes and two massive rolling racks of new-season I.AM.GIA casually hanging in the front hallway.

Truly, the best part of the day was getting to hang with Pallister herself. The designer is a ball of energy, and her positive spirit rubs off on you almost instantly. As we hung camo outfits from the patio railing and balanced a Louis Vuitton backpack on the sink, Pallister talked to us about her love for Burning Man (she has the most amazing outfits for it), who “Gia” is, and why she releases 30 new pieces every month (!!). She also went into detail about how celebrities first began wearing her pieces (hint: it has to do with Elizabeth Sulcer). Also, shop her closet here.
