While 2017 has certainly been a roller-coaster year in terms of politics, culture, and the media at large, we’ve also seen some unforgettable beauty moments, like Fenty Beauty mania, Glossier’s debut fragrance, and Pat McGrath’s new lip kits. Thanks to Google Year in Search, we also know what the top-searched trends of the past year were. How many did you all try? Check out the top six below to bid 2017 goodbye in style!

1. Mink lashes

Lashes have been trending for a while now, but dramatic and distinctively luxe mink lashes have dominated the beauty industry all year long.

2. Eyelash lift

If you’ve got a couple hundred dollars and a spare 15-20 minutes lying around, then a lash lift will give you the fullest lashes of your life for instantly brighter-looking eyes.

3. Nude makeup

This Kardashian-approved trend only grew in popularity in 2017, and we’re sure that 2018 will be no different. Luckily, cosmetics companies have slowly expanded their shade range so that “nude” doesn’t just mean “beige.”

4. Lip plumper

Yet another Kardashian-driven trend, full lips were everywhere in 2017. Thanks to over-the-counter gels like Fillerina, it’s been easier than ever to achieve that plump pout.

5. Feather eyebrows

There were a few versions of the feathered eyebrow trend that felt a little too extreme for our taste, but we’re partial to this microfeather look from the Streicher sisters.

6. Lip gloss

Maybe a glossy lip seems a bit ’90s teen dream for some, but we love a little shine after months of matte looks.
