Exclusive: Emily Oberg’s Backstage Photo Diary from the Kith Sport Show

New York-born brand Kith (you know, the label that recently released *that* monumental Coca-Cola collab?) has always held a special place in our hearts. Founder Ronnie Fieg has successfully captured the attention of thousands across the globe, and now that Emily Oberg is creative lead of the brand’s women’s division, we’re adding Kith’s women’s styles to our shopping carts more than ever before.

Last night Fieg and Oberg presented their SS18 ready-to-wear collection to the world at the Kith Sport NYFW show. Designed and produced by none other than Studio Institute (s/o to Nate Brown), the show’s backdrop was a massive wall of screens playing various videos, while the front row was filled with the most fashionable of people—everyone from Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert to Virgil Abloh, Jerry Lorenzo, Kristen Noel Crawley and Don C, Sofia Richie, Scott Disick and Swizz Beatz. Meanwhile, collabs flooded the runway; think colorblocked Kith x Nike tracksuits, Kith x Timberland boots, Kith x Bergdorf Goodman velvet ensembles, Kith x Adidas sportswear, and insane, soon-to-be-iconic sneakers (please look up the purple Air Maestro II Highs and prepare to drool). Two incredible, standout pieces? A denim puffer jacket and a puffy Kith x Moncler snowsuit. We also spied Off-White, Iceberg, Golden Bear, Clark’s, and Nishikawa collaborations, among a handful of others. The womens looks had Oberg written all over them—oversized hoodies with no pants, off-the-shoulder dresses, bodysuits, and bike shorts, paired with natural makeup, large gold hoops, and Champion-inspired nail art.

Of course, no show is complete without a few surprises, and last night’s came by way of Scottie Pippen and LeBron James having their runway debuts. Both walked solo—Pippen in a black-and-white Nike tracksuit, James in velvet pants and plaid—each wearing their own personal, brand-new Kith x Nike sneakers. Talk about legendary.

Our congrats to Fieg and Oberg on a truly next-level show. Of course, we couldn’t not ask Oberg—a four-times-over Cov-alum—for a peek at her iPhone camera roll from the night. Click through the below gallery to see backstage prep and madness, and get a breakdown of a few of Oberg’s favorite looks.
