Maybe it kicks off with the wild dye jobs we see during music festival season, but summer always seems like the best time to try a new hair color. This summer alone we’ve seen Emma Stone go back to blonde, Karlie Kloss and Sarah Jessica Parker go platinum, Chrissy Teigen try out strawberry blonde, and Lady Gaga turn peach, to name a few. And if Pinterest is any indicator (it is), many of us are pondering a trip to our colorist. Pastels are all the rage, rose gold is still trending (but now it’s for brunettes), and ash brown appears teed up to be fall’s favorite shade. Platinum Blonde
Though it may take its toll on hair, platinum still reigns, and the fervor is even growing. Pinterest searches for platinum blonde went up 30% from last year.
Pastel Hair
We like to think of the pastel trend as rainbow hair with a little Xanax more maturity. Pastels like lavender or peach are up 20%.
Rose Gold for Brunettes
Blondes aren’t the only ones who can get in on the rose gold trend that will not quit. Searches for specifically brunette rose gold hair have increased three times over.
Ash Brown Hair
This could be the crystal ball into autumn. Gray-ish brown or ash brown hair is majorly trending. According to Pinterest, saves of ash brown hair have gone up more than 35%.
