Rosy Eyelids Are the New Rosy Cheeks

For Halloween two years ago, I was Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. I wore a red wedding jumpsuit and the most sparkly red eye shadow. I was expecting myself to look scary and was planning on throwing the eye shadow away afterward. But instead? I became obsessed, and it quickly became my new go-to going-out beauty look. It made me wonder: Why aren’t we talking more about red and pink eye shadows?!

Recently, more and more people have been embracing the look, like Selena Gomez and Rihanna at this year’s Met Gala. I’ve been searching forever for the perfect pink shade that’s flattering but also toned-down enough to make it suitable for work or a casual day out, and am now obsessed with the Modern Renaissance eye shadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Venetian red is perfect for a night out, while love letter is great for a weekday at the office. The rest of the shades also give a nice range, with golden and orange colors that work for the summer days ahead.

Red lipstick and rosy cheeks may be timeless, but they’ve already been done. Why not throw on some fun shades of pink on your eyes instead?
