Can We Make Comfortable Chic a Thing?

When you’re the name behind a widely successful vegan restaurant with seven locations (and four in the works) all with a line that often goes down the block and always goes out the door, you learn what being busy really means. And there are people who manifest this stress of being overwhelming busy in the way they look and then there are those who don’t. Sam Wasser is very evidently the later and is incredibly put together in a way we don’t entirely understand. She loves designer favorites like Gucci and Prada as well as relative newcomers like Staud and Trademark, but what really ties together her look is the emphasis she puts on comfort. With silk shirts, easy separates and the most amazing pair of velvet pants, Sam’s closet is convincing us it’s time to trade out some tights and stilettos for a more easy but none the less chic alternative. Also these pieces are perfect for lounging while brainstorming our next restaurant concept (Sam, let us know when you have time to chat).

An outfit starts with what’s underneath

Sam is friends with Morgan Lane so she throws on her bras and panties underneath all of her outfits. So what if not everyone can see? There is something very comforting in wearing a piece just for yourself that makes you feel sexy and confident. After seeing how successful, easygoing and self-assured Sam is, we’ve decided that lace and lingerie is the new base staple for every outfit.

If you haven’t noticed, pajamas aren’t just for the bedroom anymore

Fashion’s new take on pajamas as fashion show appropriate is well documented (just look at Italian Fashion editor Simone Marchetti). And we are all about it. If you look good in silk and separates why not sleep and strut in them too?

And a pair of comfortable pants is all you really need

Even though Spring is here and Summer is coming there are few things better than cozy pants you can just throw on in a rush. When we met Sam she was wearing a pair that were perfect and yellow and velvet and now we want one in every color. Plus they really are weather appropriate no matter the temperature and look just as good with a vintage tee as they do with a crop top.
