Red Wine-Stained Lips Are Now a Beauty Thing

Seriously. (We’re kind of into it, though.)

Red Wine-Stained Lips Are Now a Beauty Thing

Are you one of those who, when offered a glass of red wine, hesitates over fear of staining your lips that telltale shade of purple? Or maybe you avoided red wine altogether throughout college in favor of the very cheapest Pinot Grigio? (Oh, wait, that was us. Yikes.) Either way, red wine can be a liability when you’d prefer not to ride the subway looking like a total wine-o—not to mention the concern when it comes to even the tiniest spill if you’re wearing anything but black. Nevertheless, it is pretty much our drink of choice at all times (except when theres tequila). Just call us risk takers.

But then we noticed a very sneaky trend coming up in the beauty industry. A bunch of largely all-natural brands were making lip (and often cheek) tint pots that, along with nurturing your lips, also stained them, often a shade veryyyy similar to that of our favorite Cab Sauv. How convenient. In all seriousness, though, along with disguising any actual red-wine mouth, these balms and stains are exactly what we want right now: buildable color that looks as natural as we do at 8:30 on a school night heading home after a couple glasses.
