Jourdan Dunn Made It Easier to Nail the Model Off-Duty Uniform
Her Londunn + Missguided collaboration comes out today, and it's full of satin sweatpants and bell-sleeved bodysuits.
The easiest way to achieve the elevated, effortless style of today’s top models? By shopping the clothes they design themselves. A prime example would be Jourdan Dunn’s Missguided collaboration, Londunn + Missguided, which is available online as of today. While we can definitely picture those joggers and bodysuits being worn by It girls as they jet between fashion shows, they’d be pretty perfect for casual brunches and date nights for the plebs among us.
“What I love about this new collection is that it’s a reflection of my own style, which is street chic,” Dunn told us, before adding that her goal was versatility. “We all lead such busy lives now, running from one appointment to another, and I wanted this collection to look so good that you could easily mix up the pieces according to what you were doing during your day.”
Here, Dunn tells us about her favorite piece, the model friends she's already gifted clothes too, and what else we can expect from the model later this year (hint: it's very Chrissy Teigen). Oh, and two exclusive selfies she sent us of her wearing her stuff.
Her favorite piece from her collection:
“I love the satin joggers. I normally aim for the darker colors, but I really love the color grey we created for the velvet tracksuit in particular; it just looks and feels very lux, which was one of the points to the collection. We really wanted to elevate it to the point where you could wear it from day to night without thinking.”
How she'd style the joggers:
“When I was designing my collection, I wanted to create some definitive pieces you could ‘dress up and mix up.’ For example, I like to wear my satin joggers with my Gianvito Rossi black suede high heel boots.”
The models she sent her collection to:
“I’ve sent it to Kendall, Cara, Gigi, Hailey, Bella and Sofia. And while it will be wonderful if my model friends wear it, I will also take great pride in seeing the girls I don’t know wearing it. The knowledge that girls I don’t know have chosen something that they love, and then ordered it online, that really makes me feel emotional and proud. Then I’ll know I have designed a collection that really works.”
The the item in her closet she’d be upset if she lost:
“Probably my Yeezy Red Octobers.”
The beauty product she can’t live without:
“There’s a range I like using called Tata Harper. It’s an organic range and it seems to work very well for my skin at the moment.”
What's next for her:
“You will be seeing more from my Londunn + Missguided collaboration, as the second collection launches later this year. I am also working on the recipes for my cookbook, which I am hoping will be ready at the end of the year.”
