Can We All Just Agree That The Grammys Red Carpet is the Best of Awards Season?

Best, weirdest, whatever. There's a lot to talk about.

By: Emily Ramshaw

Oh, the Grammy’s red carpet. We're so glad you could join us, because this quite literally is the place where anything goes. From straight-up pyjamas that Halsey didn’t even bother to do up, to the most glorious Adele-Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy moment, this is the stuff our forever fashion-hungry hearts wait for all year.  We have so much to discuss.

BEST LOVE LETTER TO RICCARDO TISCI’S GIVENCHY: ADELE IN GIVENCHY

Seeing Adele looking as fantastic as she does does two things to our fashion-loving hearts. 1) It makes them burst with unadulterated adoration for everything Tisci has done for red carpet dressing during his tenure at Givenchy. And 2) it makes them break just a little over the fact that he won’t be doing it anymore. Either way, Adele does a pretty magnificent Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy finale.

MOST LIKELY TO STEAL THE CELEBUSPAWN CROWN AFTER TONIGHT: PARIS JACKSON IN BALMAIN

Girl has been making moves for a while, but in this dress and at the Grammys… Lily Rose-Depp, it’s time to pass the crown.

MOST LIKELY TO BE BOTH COMFORTABLE AND UNCOMFORTABLE AT THE SAME TIME: HALSEY

Any fashion girl worth her style advice will tell you that being comfortable in what you’re wearing will immediately elevate your look into best dressed territory. And while we can’t deny that the silky PJ look that Halsey has going on certainly looks comfy, the amount of double-sided tape need to hold that shirt in place likely negates most of that comfort.

BEST GUCCI: SANTIGOLD

In our books, Alessandro Michele’s Gucci gets its own superlative category in the red carpet competition by this point. And Santigold wins it on Grammy night in this satiny pink number.

BEST CASE FOR BEING MATCHY-MATCHY: FAITH HILL IN ZUHAIR MURAD

After seeing Faith Hill on the red carpet wearing a red dress with red lips, red shoes, and a red bag, well, we need to up our coordinating game like so.

MOST J.LO: JENNIFER LOPEZ IN RALPH & RUSSO

We’re pretty sure we’ve seen this dress before… On Jennifer Lopez. But, honestly, eff it. We can support a woman who knows what works for her. And if anyone knows how to work a deep-V and a high slit, it’s Lopez.

MOST WORTHY OF A GOLD STATUETTE: SOLANGE

Ugh, Solange, you can do no wrong. We love you in this gold statuette so, so very much. We love your mile high hair and all natural makeup look. We love you.

MOST LIKELY TO END THE UNDERBOOB TREND FOREVER: LADY GAGA

Because no one will ever be able to do it as naturally and dramatically as Gaga. Underboob couldn’t possibly get better than this.

BEST CASE FOR SHOWING AS MUCH SKIN AS POSSIBLE: LAVERNE COX

Okay, Laverne Cox looks good—like, really, really good. If this is what extreme cut-outs can get us, we’ll take it.
