Louis Vuitton Is Headed to Japan For Its Cruise 2018 Show

Glamorous designs, a top tier guest list, and a set you’ll feel inspired by long after the lights dim: a major fashion show, in and of itself, is always something special. But add in that extra value of a trip abroad—where you can immerse yourself in another culture and check something off your bucket list—and it becomes a full on experience, not just something you sit and watch.

That’s likely why Louis Vuitton chose Japan for its Cruise 2018 show, which is set to take place on May 14 of this year. While the exact location is still unknown, it goes without say that the country is rich in history, eye-catching architecture, and a bold sense of style. It’s also near and dear to the fashion house’s heart: Louis Vuitton opened its first store there in 1978, and women’s artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquière, visited as recently as last November.

If you need more proof that locations add to the overall vibe of a show, just reflect back on Cruise and Resort events of the past. CHANEL held a huge celebration in CubaDior took a trip to Tokyo, and last year, Louis Vuitton went to Rio. No doubt the Japan-set show will be something you won’t want to miss.
