Backstage at Proenza Schouler

Backstage at Proenza Schouler
Alec Kugler

Unless you missed us live streaming it, Proenza Schouler’s spring/summer ‘17 show was epic. Between the multi-colored knits, graphic sweaters tied around waists, sequin skirts, and flatforms, it was truly the stuff that bankruptcy inducing wishlists are made of.

And the beauty was equally statement-making for the fact that there really was no beauty. Makeup was minimal, and hair, which was by Anthony Turner for Bumble & bumble was totally natural. Everything was pretty much ‘I woke up like this,’ save for the fact that every few models had a white or yellow-painted ear, courtesy of M.A.C.’s Diane Kendall. Not exactly street-wearable, but certainly incredibly cool.
