Date Night Hair That Looks Better the Next Morning

Just in case.

Date Night Hair That Looks Better the Next Morning

In our experience, there are lots of things to worry about when it comes to getting ready for events (you know, the kind that require more than a swipe of mascara and throwing on a pair of your old Levi’s 501s). Like say, what to drink while you’re rummaging through the abyss of your so called closet only to settle on the fact that you have nothing to wear—no? Just us? Or, whether you should go for Ruby Woo or just a nude lip—and if nude, what color nude? Or should you just go for straight up chapstick? Which is precisely why we asked five of our friends to break down their date night beauty routines, step-by-step. You may remember, in the first installment of our series, it was all about their prep and dressing drink of choice. Next up? The part which usually gets left until the very last minute: hair. Hint: It was unanimous.

HILLARY KERR

@HILLARYKERR

“For date night, I do a slightly more thoughtfully constructed version of my everyday: messy waves. I’ll finger comb my hair when I get out of the shower, then I’ll dry my bangs first. I dry the rest of it while scrunching with my hands to give it volume. Once it’s dry, I’ll use OUAI’s Dry Texturizing Spray all over, then I’ll curl big segments, leaving the ends out. Once everything’s waved the way I like it, I’ll spray on either OUAI Wave Spray or Sachajuan Ocean Mist on my waves and mess them up a bit more.”

KARLEY SCIORTINO

“It’s always the same; just blow dried and down. My goal is to look like Brigitte Bardot, but it doesn’t always work. I use Moroccan Oil religiously, so that my hair doesn’t look dry. And Klorane dry shampoo—I only wash my hair like twice a week. If I’m being lazy, I’ll just let my hair air dry.”

LINDSAY ELLINGSON

@LINDSELLINGSON

“I keep it really simple. I apply Wen’s Smoothing Glossing Serum to my ends and then braid my hair. After my makeup is done, I take out the braids and am left with gorgeous texture and shine.”

KRISTEN NOEL CRAWLEY

@KRISTENNOELCRAWLEY

“Straight and parted down the middle, always. I get my hair done once a week because I can't do it myself.”

SAMI MIRO

@SAMIMIRO

“There’s something super sexy and feminine about long hair so I like to leave my hair down and flowy. Maybe I’ll add a few curls in for an imperfect, effortless beach wave that doesn’t look like you tried too hard.”
