Editors' Picks: Happy Distractions

You would think, at this point, when a significant part of our job is looking at, trying and passing judgement on stuff (whether that's the ephemeral, Instagram-y, sort, or actual IRL product) that we'd be over talking about it. But it just feeds the fire as to our obsession with constantly searching for the new new: new makeup, new shoes (always), new songs, new shows, new books, new blogs... the list goes on. Herein, this week's obsessions—courtesy us .

1. Vetements dress: This color + velvet + the fact that it has a turtleneck. How could I not?

2. Raf Simons x Adidas sneakers: Pretty sure the ultimate sign of fashion victimhood is paying $300 (!) for sneakers that are intended to look dirty, right? But, here we are.

3. Daria Werbowy by Juergen Teller for Pop Magazine Spring/Summer 2016: Daria + Juergen let loose in Paris = real, actual magic.

4. Young Thug for GQ: "Once, in the middle of another interview, he got up, walked out of the room, went to the airport, and flew away." If that doesn't make you want to read this, I don't know what will.

5. 'Drone Bomb Me' by Anohi: Just... whoa.

1. Super Sad True Love Story: I know this book was big like six years ago when it came out, but I've only just got around to reading it. It's the kind of novel that makes you wish your subway right didn't end so that you can continue reading—it's that good.

2. Martiniano pumps: These shoes couldn't be less sexy but for some reason I'm a little obsessed with them—maybe because they remind me of those Céline barefoot pedicured shoes from a few years ago. Anyone else?

3. Greenpoint Fish & Lobster: I've been slowly exploring my new Brooklyn neighborhood and this is my favorite restaurant yet. Micheladas and lobster rolls always.

4. Pink swivel chair: I will be outfitting a new apartment in the near future. Might as well start with an extremely overpriced, but very pretty chair that I'll probably sit in twice.

5. Marc Jacobs phone case: I've had an iPhone 6S phone for a few months now without using a case. The fact that it hasn't been destroyed or even scratched yet is a true miracle. And I'd prefer not to test it any longer. This Marc Jacobs case looks sufficiently cushy.

1. Jimmy Choo Sandals: Is there going to be a time when I don't put lace up suede shoes in my ed picks? Probably not.

2. Garance Doré Pardon My French: The latest podcast (featuring Zosia Mamet on last week's episode!) making my morning walk to work that much better.

3. "Hurt Me" by Låpsley: Let's talk about this chick's voice for a second. It's basically chicken soup for the soul. And yeah, her whole album is my new dressing / working / falling asleep playlist.

4. In Transit No Trace Pads: Since moving to New York the subway, taxis, Amtrak and (gasp) Mega Bus have become a constant in my life. These pads and some heavy duty hand sanitizer are part of my survival mechanism.

5. J.Crew Gingham Pants: It's springtime. Which means I kind of want to wear picnic tablecloths disguised as pants in celebration.

1. The Upside Leggings: Not going to lie, I haven't exercised in a reeeeaal long time. Hopefully getting some new workout clothes that look like this will help with the motivation. Makes sense, right?

2. Klorane Eye Patches: Always.

3. Sibling Crop top: Summer can't come soon enough.

4. Urban Cowboy Nashville: I was doing a bit of recon apartment hunting this past weekend in NYC (remember? TC HQ is making it's official move super soon) and stayed at the most epic of hidden B&B gems. As in, you've probably walked by it and didn't even know it existed. They've now opened what's apparently an even more epic one in a converted Victorian mansion in Nashville. Uh, get me there now.

5. The Wire: I've heard the spoilers and watched a season, like, three years ago but I'm finally committing to binge watching back-to-back.
