9 easy steps that don't even include actually having to do the deed.

How to Mimic a Post Sex Glow

We’re just going to be straight up here: it’s our general opinion that you really never look more naturally beautiful than after having, um, a really good time in bed. Are we right, or are we right? It’s the rosy flush, the dewy skin, naturally bright eyes and reddened (bitten?) lips—which, we’ll be honest, is one of those all-natural looks we wouldn’t mind bottling up for when we’re feeling a little less than on any given weekday morning.

So this is essentially why we called up Lauren Andersen, who regularly pretties up Jessica Alba, January Jones, Hari Nef and Saoirse Ronan—and, guys, they look good. If anyone knows natural looking beauty, it’s Andersen. Herein, here’s how to fake out the post-sex glow.

Here’s how to look, uh, satisfied.

“It begins with a great facial care regime. Exfoliate once a week with a scrub and use a retinol once a week.”

Tip: “If you’re breaking out, don’t use an exfoliant. It will only spread bacteria around.”

“Moisturize thoroughly.”

— 3 —

“Start with a primer that has hydrolic acid as an ingredient. It will pump up the skin and give it vibrance. Wear a sunscreen on a daily basis, especially if you’re exfoliating as that will make you more susceptible to UV rays.”

“Next, apply a tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation.”

“For a natural flush use a cream blush on the apples of the cheek. Don’t use any shimmery or sparkly product as they will look unnatural. Choose a rosy color for the cheek rather than a peach. When blood is in face, it shows pink. A sheer strawberry is perfect. Apply the cream blush with two fingers, dabbing and pressing it in; or use the back of a beauty blender. Be sure to blend the edges to make it look natural and not like a spot.”

— 6 —

“Use bronzer for shaping and contouring in the hollow of your cheek—don’t apply to the apple of the cheek.”

— 7 —

“Use a balm on the tops of the cheek bone and around the side of your eyes. This will make the skin look dewy without being sparkly. You can also apply down the center of your nose for a natural looking highlight.”

— 8 —

“For natural looking bright eyes, curl your eyelashes, which makes your look more awake. Use a brown mascara for blue or brown eyes or a burgundy mascara for green or hazel eyes, which isn’t as harsh as black mascara. If you want your eyes to pop, use a flat brush with a soft brown eye shadow and press that into your lash line.”

“For a bitten lip, Avon has great berry lip colors. Layer a balm over top. Benefit’s Benetint is also a good lip stain.”
