Stuart Weitzman Meets Superme in This NYC Editor's Closet

We’ve said it a million times, but we’ll say it again because it’s just so true: editors have exceptional closets. And photographing them, for us, is kind of like returning home because we know, a) there will be mountains of sample sale goodies, but, b) somehow all of it will perfectly encapsulate and reflect said editor’s personal style.

Take Danielle Prescod, the latest on our cut-from-every-masthead checklist and current lifestyle editor at BET.com. When we went banging on her Upper East Side door, well, we kind of knew we would be walking into an OG editor closet. And we got what we expected, but, also, we didn’t. Because not every editor we know wears Supreme sweatshirts with denim cut-offs and over-the-knee stiletto Stuart Weitzmans, y’know?

That said, she did have her fair share of tried-and-true editor favorites, like Tabitha Simmons flats and Aquazzura Amazona sandals; fur coats and leather hats; some very good jackets by Thakoon and Thom Browne. Oh, and that longstanding editor favorite: sunglasses. Prescod has them by the bucket-load. But, on top of being one of our favorite New York Fashion Week sightings, maybe we can chalk up Prescod’s proficiency in fashion editor dressing to her (very impressive) roster of mentors. We’re talking Tommy Ton favorites and editor Cov-alumni Taylor Tomasi Hill and Shiona Turini, to be specific.
