How To Get The Carolina Herrera Rich Girl Hair Bend

Orlando Pita gets that super soft and glossy hair oh-so right.

How To Get The Carolina Herrera Rich Girl Hair Bend

We’re kind of suckers for juxtapositions: painfully beautiful femme-y clothing—think delicately pleated chiffon skirts and intricately embellished tops—paired with flats (because comfort). And that’s exactly what Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2016 show was all about; romantic silhouettes with a touch of casual modernity (guys, she somehow made sheer modest!). Amazing, right? And the hair? Well, it followed the same modus operandi; a cool departure from Herrera’s ubiquitous sleek and polish up-dos, which, we’ll admit, has always been a bit intimidating. But this season, it was the sort of hair we wished we could reenact every. single. day.

Hair deity Orlando Pita and TRESemmé did up Herrera’s flock of girls (Lily Aldridge, Alana Zimmer, Irina Kravchenko were all backstage with us) with soft and gentle bendy waves, all while still staying true to Herrera’s signature elegance. “We wanted the hair to have a very ethereal and angelic edge, but with a modern feel," Pita told us. "It’s about creating a soft, ‘barely there’ look that has lots of gentle movement and celebrates shiny, healthy hair!” And by “barely there,” Pita still means a bit of effort. But in this case, the work is definitely worth the result.

What You’ll Need…

· Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner
· Runway Collection Get Sleek Blow Dry Balm
· Smooth & Silky Shine Spray
· Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray
· Blow dryer
· Round bristle brush
· Comb
· 1.5 inch curling wand

— Step 1 —

Start by washing your hair using Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner and rough dry.

— Step 2 —

Apply Get Sleek Blow Dry Balm from roots to ends and dry hair with a round bristle brush before using a comb to create a straight center part.

— Step 3 —

Separate hair into 2-inch wide sections and use a 1.5 inch barrel curling wand to create a very loose S-bend wave in the hair, rolling the curling wand down the hair. Use the edge of the curling wand to smooth the hair at the roots.

— Step 4 —

Lightly spritz Smooth & Silky Shine Spray over hair and onto your fingers to tame any fly aways around the face.

— Step 5 —

Finish by spraying Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray for flexible hold.
