NYFW Diary

Snow, slush and streakers be damned.

Fashion Week
NYFW Diary
Well, we made it, kids. Snow, slush, and, ahem, streakers be damned, we successfully made it through another New York Fashion Week largely unscathed, save for a few sets of eye bags. And with London well underway (J.W. Anderson's sculpted bustier turtlenecks and Mary Katrantzou's digi-print-free frocks and all), why not go ahead and compile a little diary of our NYFW escapades.

Not wanting to waste a moment after our flight in hit the tarmac, it was straight to Rag & Bone, where we swooned over the artfully dishelved, almost matted ponies, embroidered bomber jackets and oversized, cozy sweaters—you know, the type fitting of a Polar Vortex/East Coast snowpocalypse. Then it was over to Suno, where we previewed the collection backstage with Cov-alums Chelsea Leyland, Kate Foley & Susie Lau. And yes, we somehow managed to resist the temptation of snatching Foley's Prada creeper booties and Fendi buggie—just don't ask us how.
Fast forward to Prabal Gurung, aforementioned streaker and all; where we cozied up backstage pre-nakedness to the intricate Swarovski beadery (Gurung is just one of the many designers apart of the Swarovski Collective this season), scarlet folds of silk and peek-a-boo crops and cut-outs. Sunday saw the Delpozo show, which stole the spotlight of many an Instagram feed (namely ours) with the help of a certain, we-need-that-on-our-bodies-now quilted cape coat. Oh, and you better believe we'll be stalking those color-blocked chunky oxfords with a vengeance. Same goes for those crystal-studded hairclips and glitter shearling coats we spotted at Rodarte—that is, when we're not attempting to recreate those aubergine lids and shimmer-spackled lips for ourselves.

What better way to cap off our week than with a re-see of the CHANEL couture presentation, where we got all up-close-and-personal with the—yes, the—sequin and tulle laced bespoke sneakers. Yeah, so much for that savings account.
