We told you it was double trouble, and we weren’t lying. Yesterday we showed off Danielle Snyder’s sick pad, complete with Loefler Randall kicks on Keith Haring books and African masks adorned with blingin’ gems. Today, we flip the coin and bring you into the home of Danielle’s sister, Jodie Snyder, co-founder of DANNIJO (get it – she’s the Jo). She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida (which also happens to be the stomping ground of another winner Mr. Timo Weiland), began tinkering with jewelry creation as a young’n, went to college at UF where she majored in PR and Business, packed up, and moved to NYC. She ran private sales at Sam Edelman shoes, worked in design where she made ties witheveryone from Donna Karan to Calvin Klein, launched her line with her sister in 2008 and boom, the rest is history. Since their collection dropped, they’re now sold everywhere from Lane Crawford to Holt Renfrew and have been recognized as Inc Magazine's 30 Under 30 List (2009) as well as nominated for Breakthrough Designer for WGSN Awards in 2011. Work it out! Since it’s inception, their handmade creations have been seen inside the pages of fashion bibles like Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, and Marie Claire. But dudes, don’t think these female powerhouses don’t have your accessorization needs at heart, as they’ve handpicked a selection of vintage cufflinks to make your wrists dance and shine with excitement…in the most masculine way possible. Her apartment has an Americana Western vibe and she buys furniture like she buys accessories – always an emotional purchase and never enough space. She’s a devoted Prada shoe lover, and has even taken her girlcrush one step further. “Miuccia Prada is a genius! I always want to wear what she designs,” proclaims Ms. Jo. “Did you know she studied to be a mime before becoming a designer?” Bring on the white paint, spandex, and chapeaus – we’re signing up for Mime 101 stat. Oh, and before we forget, while we may be obsessed with MR.DANNIJO (their collaboration with The Man Repeller), we’re even more stoked to learn about their second collaboration launching in February. We can’t wait to repel dudes around the world with chunky collars and brass-plated mustaches. February can’t come soon enough. But today is all about Jo. Peek inside and get lost for an hour…or 4.
