Pristine Condition

We first spotted Lauren Rubinski's pretty, punky Parisian line of bijoux, Pristine, while shooting the Courtin-Clarins girls at the Crosby Street Hotel. We took turns ooh-ing and aah-ing over their lobes, outfitted with diamond-studded spikes and imitation stretchers, working to create the ultimate tough/dainty dichotomy. After all, as we've been taking cues from Leandra Medine's recent shift towards a "deep liking for daintier jewelry," ditching our cocktail baubles in favor of skinny stackable rings, we're increasingly finding ourselves drawn to jewelry that captures that same balance.

Rubinski pulls her inspiration from a fascination with piercing and mod culture—read: those spacers and ear tunnels that you tried to piss your parents off with in high school. By taking their silhouettes and shapes and subsequently decking them out with minuscule diamonds, Rubinski's Pristine perfectly satisfies our craving for subtly opulent haute joaillerie. And while a quick click through Colette will suggest that Pristine price points make the line decidedly, ahem, aspirational, a girl (or guy)'s gotta dream, right?
